1910's to 1920's
Clarence opened as 'Fraser Town European Day School' with 17 students.
1 December, 1914
Ms. W. Fuller joined as the Headmistress of the School
1914-1918
Ms. Winifred Allan took over the baton, as the Headmistress of the School
1918-1926
A new piece of land was purchased for the school, where the current school building stands.
1920
Inauguration of the first School Sports.
29 October, 1920
The foundation stone of the first school building on the new campus was laid.
December, 1920
1921's to 1925's
The dedication of the site for the new school building. consequently, construction began.
1921
The new school buildings were instituted by the Resident, Sir William Barton, and Mrs. Barton.
19 December, 1922
The school reached 100 students, and a holiday was granted.
23 February, 1923
1930's to 1950's
The new principal, Mr Wilcox dedicated 20 long years serving as the Principal between 1931-1951.
10 October 1931
"Clarence School Property Trust" was registered.
1932
Class 8 began under Mr. E. Hobday. B.A.
18 January, 1934
A melodious and meaningful School song was composed by G.C. Rogers.
1942
The Clarence High School playground (Assaye Field) was granted to the school on a perpetual lease.
1948
1950's to 1960's
Mr. A.C.A. Flack became the Principal of Clarence High School and dedicated 32 long years towards, building a world class educational institution (1951-1983)
1951
Our beloved Ms. Emma Horton joined as KG Superintendent.
1952
Mr. Alfred Redwood laid the foundation stone of Redwood House, to be built for Classes 10 and 11.
3 November, 1955
Students on roll reached the 400 mark!
January, 1956
1960's to 1970's
Mrs. Grace Tucker launched the Wilcox Extension.
20 October, 1963
Golden Jubilee Year! Huge celebrations and a building was dedicated for this remarkable milestone!
1964
Mr. Flack initiated the Building Fund.
1964
ICSE curriculum began for Class 9.
January, 1969
1970's to 1990's
The Kindergarten Block opened, dedicated to the Horton family, through the donations of the relatives of Ms. Emma Horton.
1976
Mr. David Coates dedicated 4 years serving as the Principal of CHS
1983-1987
The Flack Auditorium was unveiled to the delight of the school members and students.
1985
Mr M.T. Thomas, served as the Principal for 6 faithful years.
1987
The Coates Library was established and received with much joy by all members of the staff and students.
1988
1990's to 2005's
Mr. Benny Joseph served as the Principal of Clarence High School for 20 distinguished years
1993-2013
The inception of the William Carey Block
1993
The Stewards Block was inaugurated.
2004
Commencement of The Special Education School for our special needs children.
June, 2004
2005's to 2020's
The Centenary Block was established
2008
Dr Jerry George Matthew, inducted as the Principal of Clarence High School and is continuing to serve the community with his unwavering commitment.
2014
The Centenary Year of Clarence High School! A phenomenal milestone was celebrated with a chain of celebrations and a building dedicated for this occasion.
2014
The Trust was renamed as "Clarence Educational Trust
March, 2016
National Institute of Open 'Schooling was set up at Clarence High School. We are now an accredited Study Centre and Examination Centre for NIOS
2017
2020's
Clarence Kindergarten was set up to introduce the Montessori system of teaching children in the age groups of 3 years to 5 years.
June, 2022
Inauguration of a plush new office which was renovated in the Wilcox block.
September, 2022
Inauguration of the Clarke Road campus. A state-of- the-art facility for new Montessori Environments and play areas.
